Senior management from China Distance Education Holdings Limited (NYSE Arca: DL) ("CDEL", or the "Company"), a leading provider of online education in China focusing on Professional education, presented at the Merrill Lynch Education/ Healthcare Conference held on December 3-4, 2008 at the Merrill Lynch client service center in Hong Kong.

Mr. Zhengdong Zhu, chairman and CEO, and Ms. Ping Wei, CFO, participated in the two-day conference, including meetings with analysts and investors. The investment community showed strong interest in the education sector, particularly in CDEL's online education model. The following represent key take-aways from management's presentation:

Mr. Zhu provided an update on CDEL's current operations, as well as outlining the Company's future development strategies. Mr Zhu commented that the company is on the right track, and with the successful listing on the NYSE Arca, the Company had further enhanced its internal control as well as management team in general.

Looking forward, management expects the accounting, healthcare and self-taught higher education segments to be the three major growth drivers for the coming years. Mr. Zhu added that the company continues to maintain its leadership position in the accounting space, and expects continued strong growth from the healthcare sector. In addition, Mr. Zhu added that the self-taught higher education segment has also made good progress, particularly in Tianjin province.

With a strong cash position from the proceeds of its IPO, CDEL is also actively looking for M&A and strategic alliance opportunities.

Ms. Wei reviewed the Company's healthy financial results for the fiscal year 2008 with investors, and management is confident that the Company will deliver another strong financial performance in the coming year.
